It's natural to come down a bit after you have such a great set. You're thinking 'this is great' but the opponent on the other hand is coming on strong.

Iga Swiatek is suddenly overthinking everything isn't she. Sometimes you're playing so well that you're up over the top of the mountain and you've got to start to teeter down the other side again because it's hard to maintain such an extraordinary high level.

Belinda Bencic overhits a simple forehand before Iga Swiatek thunders a forehand return down the line for 0-30.

Bencic feels when she has the chance to hit a good ball she might overcook it a bit because she isn't getting many opportunities.

It's when your eyes get big that you are in danger of missing it.

    Swiatek 5-2 Bencic*

She may be a break up in this first set, but there was a bit of pressure building on Iga Swiatek there.

The Pole will be thankful to come through that service game relatively comfortably, holding to 15.

Normally Bencic is so good at putting pressure on the second serve of her opponent because she can take ball early and find an angle.

Swiatek's quality of serve today is just not helping her on the return, she's struggling a little bit.

  10. 'Bencic hasn't really put foot wrong'published at 17:26 British Summer Time 10 July

    *Swiatek 4-2 Bencic

    Martina Navratilova
Nine-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC One

Bencic is playing a very clean match - five winners and one unforced error, but she's down 4-2 and she really hasn't put a foot wrong.

Iga Swiatek has just been so dominant with 10 winners and only three unforced errors.

Much better stuff from Belinda Bencic.

The Swiss gets the hold to love, aided by a couple of wayward efforts from Iga Swiatek.

Can she put pressure on the eighth seed's serve now?

Iga Swiatek gets the hold to 30 but some encouraging signs for Belinda Bencic that she is growing into this match.

The Swiss is getting a far better read on Swiatek's forehand now.

There is already a tactical adjustment from Belinda Bencic. Instead of going really across on the backhand, she went either down to the middle or down the line back to the forehand of Iga Swiatek.

I think it's a much better play because if she gives too much angle from the back end side of Swiatek, she's going to make you pay the price.

Belinda Bencic gets on the board.

After her start to the match and the subsequent delay, she really needed that.

    Martina Navratilova

Bencic needs to redirect, that's a strength of her game and she has to do it extremely well today.

She can beat Iga if she keeps her on the run.

Iga Swiatek brings unbelievable intensity, every time you watch her it's like she's burning a million calories in terms of what she is doing.

She's hustling across, it's like she's doing a training drill and normally you would set someone in fitness training lots of little short, sharp movements of drills.

She does it constantly across the baseline, she's shadow swinging and she almost doesn't stop.

This pause in the action is providing an opportunity for the seats around Centre Court to fill up a lot more because it was looking a little sparse at the start of play.

It now looks much more full.
