When rallies form, more often than not, Jannik Sinner thrives.

But Sinner is absorbing the Frenchman's blows, staying in rallies and waiting for errors. The Italian holds to 15 to put the pressure back on.

40-30 and a strong serve later helps Rinderknech go 3-0 up in the third.

There it is! Arthur Rinderknech jogs around the court in celebration. A lap of honour.

Rinderknech has Sinner on the back foot and the world number one scampers to reach a lob but can only fire into the net.
