    Away we go!

Wang Xinyu is left in shock after she's penalised for a foot fault, which leaves her 0-30 down in her opening service game.

An early opening for Emma Raducanu, perhaps.

    Raducanu v Wang

World number 41 Emma Raducanu up against China's 43rd-ranked Wang Xinyu.

It's not a straightforward opening match for either player.

And victory will likely set up a meeting with four-time champion Iga Swiatek...

Emma Raducanu needed treatment for a back spasm during her last outing in Strasbourg on Tuesday, using dry needling and heat therapy on the affected area since.

At the weekend Raducanu talked about overcoming her "biggest phobia" - a fear of needles - to help ensure she is ready for her French Open return.

The 22-year-old, who suffered from a similar issue before the Australian Open, says she is "not 100%" - but tennis players rarely are.

"I would say the one before Australia was worse. I feel like this one I kind of caught before it fully locked up," said Raducanu.

"It feels OK, it feels good, not 100% yet, but we're working towards that."

British number two Emma Raducanu kicks off her French Open campaign against world number 42 Wang Xinyu on Court 8.

Raducanu said she was beginning to "build a relationship" with clay while completing her French Open preparations in Strasbourg, but has been suffering with a back spasm in the build-up to Roland Garros.

Despite that issue, the former US Open champion, who recently returned to the world's top 50, says she has been "managing" the issue during practices and has overcome her "biggest phobia" - a fear of needles - to treat the pain.

More importantly, she now feels ready to open her account at Roland Garros.

Emma Raducanu remains a big draw.

There was already a decent queue outside court eight - a small stadium in the shadow of Court Suzanne Lenglen - half an hour before she is due to walk out.

The British Barmy Army are out in force. National flags are being sat on, ready to be unfurled. Union Jack hats are covering bounces ready to ward off the UV.

Some will be planning to stay for the long haul with Jodie Burrage playing her first-round match straight afterwards.
