Summary

  1. Game and first set - Swiatekpublished at 18:45 British Summer Time

    Alexandrova 3-6 0-0 Swiatek*

The pressure Iga Swiatek is putting on Ekaterina Alexandrova's serve is beginning to tell, and two consecutive double faults from the 13th seed give the world number two a set point.

Alexandrova then tries a drop shot, which finds the net - she holds her arms out in annoyance while Swiatek marches purposefully to her chair with the first set in the bag with half an hour played.

I don't think we'll see Andrey Rublev disappear out of this match.

He'll keep trying to knock on the door and stay as close as he can to try to force Felix Auger-Aliassime to come up with the goods.

Iga Swiatek is winding up the pressure, beginning the game with a brilliant backhand volley, and then two fearsome return winners set up two break points for the six-time Grand Slam champion.

Ekaterina Alexandrova looks to have saved the first as she works Swiatek way off the side of the court but then gets in a right muddle when attempting to poke the ball over the net for a simple winner, and ends up prodding it into the net, handing Swiatek the break.

    Mark Woodforde

The head-to-head record, you'd think would have some impact, and we still have a match to play here - Andrey Rublev has come back before but I think this is down to the confidence of Felix Auger-Aliassime.

He's been picking up steam heading into this competition and it's paying dividends right now.

  12. Game and second set - Auger-Aliassimepublished at 18:26 British Summer Time

    Auger-Aliassime 7-5 6-3 0-0 Rublev*

Felix Auger-Aliassime gets a two-set lead by holding to love.

The Canadian imposed himself on that second set, hitting 15 winners to Andrey Rublev's four.

But the Russian was the architect of his own downfall too, making unforced errors in the desperate search to get back into the set once he went a break down.

If he's to find a route back into this match, he's going to have to keep his temper in check.

A slap on the thigh is fine - but what we just saw from Andrey Rublev after losing that serve is a sign he's struggling.

We're seeing time and time again it doesn't work for him.

He's feeding Felix Auger-Aliassime right now too, who's building in confidence.

    Ah, huge from Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Not only does he go a break up in this second set, but he appears to have got well under Andrey Rublev's skin.

The Russian smashed his racquet after losing his serve, but not enough to incur a penalty.

He is not a happy bunny right now, though.
