More contribute to a comfortable hold for Swiatek, who is able to recover from throwing in a double fault.

Swiatek spices things up with a double fault for 15-15, only for Raducanu's backhand to let her down again.
That's the invitation which Swiatek needs. She sticks her foot on the gas with winners off both flanks to hold.

Her resistance buckles on another break point for Swiatek, overcooking a forehand which flies way past the baseline.

Well, that escalated quickly. Once Swiatek gets an inch she takes a mile.
The second seed wraps up a one-sided first set with a hold to 15 and jogs menacingly back to her chair.
Raducanu's serve, as we suspected, was pummelled as Swiatek took two of her five break points.

A nearby British groan is followed by a gulp as Raducanu dumps a forehand into the net for 0-15.
She recovers well, though, with a forehand winner and a meaty first serve to move 30-15 ahead, before Swiatek laces a winner for 30-30.
Raducanu closes in on a much-needed hold but wait there... Swiatek forces deuce.
A short rally ends in Raducanu hitting a tentative backhand into the net. Another break point to the Pole...
Swiatek gobbles up the second serve and the Brit's backhand lets down again.

Swiatek swamps her to tee up three break points.
After saving one, a weak volley does not test Swiatek enough and the five-time major champion picks off the Brit with a passing crosscourt backhand winner.

Raducanu saves her bacon with some solid returning, although just as she looks to be off the hook, a double fault brings the game back to deuce.
A wonderful point from Raducanu, where she plays a neat drop-shot at the right time and backs it up with a lob over Swiatek's head, brings up game point.
And a solid first serve gets the Brit over the line.
