It has taken 27 minutes for the first break of the match to come, after Novak Djokovic got to 0-40. The first attempt, a sliding two-handed forehand from the baseline went long. But he gets the break at the second time outlasting his opponent in a wonderful rally full of great volleys.

Djokovic, like a conductor, stands in mid-court, waving his arms to the side wanting, and demanding more noise. All those in his players' box and his fans around all get to their feet as they do as their man wishes.

Great noise, great atmosphere. But also a great big task for Lorenzo Musetti on his hands. Djokovic hits the front.

The Serb takes the next point when meeting Musetti's cross-court forehand and cushions it back into huge open space.

A first serious test of character for the Italian with three break points to defend.

There has been absolutely no hint of any "disrespect" shown towards Novak Djokovic in any way at all today.

The Serb was unhappy after his last-16 win over Holger Rune, saying the Dane's fans' extended chants of Ruuunnnneee was actually taken by some as an opportunity to boo him.

Will we see some Muuuuusetti shouts later on? Nothing yet.

Both players being warmly and politely applauded when they do something that warrants that. There are a lot of Musetti fans in Centre Court and anytime someone shouts out anything in Italian, the Djokovic fans respond with "come on, Novak".

All good natured at the moment. Let's all just enjoy a great match.

Novak Djokovic beat Lorenzo Musetti went toe-to-toe over four hours and 29 minutes at the French Open last month with the Serb winning in five sets.

That meeting gave both players the opportunity to download plenty of data on their rival. Who will put that to best use today?

So far, it's hard to tell as Musetti holds and we stay on serve.

No signs of nerves from Lorenzo Musetti in what is his first-ever Grand Slam semi-final.

An ace gets the Italian to 40-15 but Novak Djokovic digs in with shot after shot on the baseline before Musetti fires into the net.

Musetti remains calm, though, and gets his first hold of the match.

We start off on Centre Court with loads of empty green seats all around Wimbledon.

But don't worry, this is exactly what happens in the second match on the show courts as the fans go and get refreshed after the lengthy first match of the day.

The fans on Centre and One are only allowed back in during the changeovers, or at the end of games if they are quick, so by three games in, hundreds and hundreds of people will have come back into the arena.

It will be packed out once again very soon.

Lorenzo Musetti opts for a defensive approach against the serve in the opening game and it's working as he keeps the pressure on Novak Djokovic to get to deuce.

The Italian skews wide to hand Djokovic advantage and the Serb volleys at the net for the first hold.

    *Musetti 0-0 Djokovic

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

Djokovic is so rock solid, not only in his ground strokes and his technique, but also his mental strength. In fact, that's probably his main weapon.

And he's going to bring all that to the table and make Musetti feel that early.

But I hope Musetti can get through the butterflies and make this a good match.

Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz is through to Sunday's final but will it be Lorenzo Musetti or Novak Djokovic on the other side of the net?

Djokovic is on serve to get us under way.

During his rest day yesterday Novak Djokovic spoke to BBC One looking ahead to his semi-final battle with Italian Lorenzo Musetti:

"I have faced him [Lorenzo Musetti] twice this year on clay.

"His best results have came on clay throughout his career, but this year on grass he's been playing some terrific tennis.

"It is obvious that he’s feeling confident, he is a very talented player - we have known this for years since he has been on the tour.

"I have done some things on my practice to tactically prepare myself. I know what to do, but it is a completely different story on the court."

On Lorenzo Musetti's quarter-final victory over Taylor Fritz...

    It was incredible.

When you talk about a player building levels throughout the course of the match - they start as one player and finish as someone different.

That is exactly what Musetti did against Fritz.
