Can the eighth seed handle this tight spot as well as Sabelanka has been doing?

    Sabalenka 7-6 (7-3) 2-2 Zheng*

Aryna Sabalenka waits to serve as the wind continues to cause issues, and it's preventing her from being quite as dominant in her games right now.

Zheng Qinwen again forces an opening at 0-30, but Sabalenka unleashes a brilliant backhand to avoid break points and then turns the game around with some brutal serving.

A couple of aces to end it. Take that, wind.

  5. 'Sabalenka is being disturbed by the breeze'published at 11:44 British Summer Time 3 June

    *Sabalenka 7-6 (7-3) 1-2 Zheng

    Abigail Johnson
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra and BBC Sounds

There is still a bit of a pesky breeze rolling around here at Roland Garros.

Aryna Sabalenka has stopped before her toss for the umpteenth time this match. I think she is being disturbed by the breeze, but it is the fifth time that she has stopped her motion.

When is she going to get done for it? She could get a time violation at some stage...

  6. Zheng holds servepublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 3 June

    *Sabalenka 7-6 (7-3) 1-2 Zheng

Zheng Qinwen finds an ace to take an important fifth point for 40-30, and then another accurate first serve gets the better of Aryna Sabalenka to settle the game.

Solid enough so far from Zheng following her double fault disappointment in the opening set.

  7. 'Zheng looks really focused'published at 11:35 British Summer Time 3 June

A good start to the second set here from Zheng - she looks really focused.

I think it's always good to have a little tactical break after a set, especially after you have had the momentum early on and lost it near the end. It helps to refocus the mind.

She needs to be careful with slumping her shoulders though. You can't give your opponent that body language. When Sabalenka misses something, she shows her physical presence by getting angry and cross. The small margins actually win you points.

    Sabalenka 7-6 (7-3) 1-1 Zheng*

A couple of misses from Aryna Sabalenka hands Zheng Qinwen an opening at 0-30, but a couple of accurate first serves help the world number one avoid a couple of break points.

The wind has whipped up a bit and is swirling around Court Philippe Chatrier, throwing Sabalenka off her serve - but Zheng can't capitalise on a look at a second serve and Sabalenka holds with a fourth successive point. Very well handled.

The whole momentum of this match changed at 4-3 up, Zheng Qinwen leading, 30-15, two back-to-back double faults and then the break.

Aryna Sabalenka is showing why she is the best player on the planet. The belief is there. She is always willing to lift her game with more power and pace.

It is going to be a big uphill battle for the Chinese number one now.

This match is certainly delivering so far.

It promised to be close, and there was always the chance it could be a long one. The quality has varied, but this is hotting up nicely and there's certainly a big-match feel to it on Court Philippe Chatrier.

    Sabalenka 6-5 Zheng*

    Greg Rusedski

Zheng Qinwen looked at that shot twice before she played the backhand. She is handling this exceptionally well but this could cost her the opening set.

This is where I feel Hawk-eye would come into benefit because it would be definitive and there would be no doubt in anybody's mind right now...

  19. Zheng holds serve from set point downpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 3 June

    *Sabalenka 6-6 (0-0) Zheng

That is so well handled by Zheng Qinwen.

The 22-year-old gets out of trouble to force a tie-break. It's fully deserved - especially after we learn the shot she stopped to call out was actually seven millimetres in according to Hawk-eye technology, which is not officially in use here.

  20. Zheng saves set pointpublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 3 June

    Sabalenka 6-5 Zheng*

    Whattttt.

Aryna Sabalenka is bullying Zheng Qinwen in a rally but somehow the eighth seed produces a stunning winner from nowhere to shut down the set point. Incredible play.
