Tommy Paul has got to find a way to get out of this first service game, just to make this a match.
If Carlos Alcaraz goes up two sets and a break, this could be curtains very quickly!

It is a stunned silence here on Court Philippe-Chatrier right now....
I feel like Carlos Alcaraz is on the edge of getting bored, and when he gets bored I feel like he does some silly things.
I think that is the only hope Tommy Paul has to try to catch a rather big fish tonight.
*Paul 0-6 1-6 0-0 Alcaraz
The first set lasted 30 minutes, this one just 23.
Tommy Paul fizzes a backhand long and wide to hand Carlos Alcaraz a 2-0 lead.

Paul 0-6 1-4 Alcaraz*
Oh wow. Another ridiculous winner from Carlos Alcaraz who smashes a backhand down the line. 40-30.
*Paul 0-6 1-4 Alcaraz
Alcaraz wants this set done and dusted. He continues to hit perfect returns to move to 15-30, although Paul recovers with a nice forehand and pumps his fist towards his bench.
*Paul 0-6 1-4 Alcaraz
Bless him, but Paul just wants this match to end. We've all been there. I once air-shotted a certain winner when I had match point against my dad at table tennis. He recovered to win.
*Paul 0-6 1-4 Alcaraz
The smothering continues. Paul's barely in this next game too as Alcaraz goes up 40-15.
Oh no, what's this? A total air shot from Paul, attempting to swipe a forehand, but getting nothing on it. The crowd gasp, some even laugh. That looked really, really amateur.

Carlos Alcaraz is getting a lot of time on the ball at the moment. He is taking his shots so early and is just smothering Tommy Paul.
The American also likes to take his shots early, but Alcaraz is on another level. The more pace you give him, especially during these slow conditions on an evening, is not always a good thing.
Paul 0-6 1-3 Alcaraz*
A set and a break for Carlos Alcaraz, he wins this game to 15 after another sloppy forehand from Paul drops wide.
The American has been a distant second best so far.
