An unexpected celebrity collab has been blossoming at Wimbledon this year. It turns out artist Lil Wayne is a fan of Jelena Ostapenko.

In an interview during the Miami Open in March, the Latvian player revealed that Lil Wayne's appearance at a Drake concert was her "favourite part". Last week, Lil Wayne reposted that clip saying "Thanks for the luv."

During another interview after her first round victory over Ajla Tomljanovic, Ostapenko invited Lil Wayne to be in her player box at the US Open next month. The rapper responded positively to the invite, external.

Don't be surprised if you hear Ostapenko on Lil Wayne's next album...

A nice hooked forehand winner which brushes the line along with a few unreturnable serves hand Ostapenko another hold as she stays in touch in the first set of this quarter-final.

Two years on from her maiden Grand Slam triumph at SW19, Elena Rybakina looks to be making another run at the title.

The Kazakh fourth seed swept past former world number one Caroline Wozniacki in round three and was well on her way to another dominant victory in the last round before Anna Kalinskaya was forced to retire.

Rybakina is now the highest remaining seed in the women's singles and looks to be the player to beat.

Trying to do just that today is Ukraine's Elina Svitolina.

The 21st seed raced to a straight-set victory over Wang Xinyu in under an hour in the last round and will now attempt to reach her third Wimbledon semi-final.

I think it is an opportunity for both players.

The draw has really opened up and both would think they can win it.

A long history between the two players puts a lot of emphasis on the match, they played in juniors together so often.

    *Ostapenko 1-3 Krejcikova

Krejcikova is fired up for this one. A few early yells from the 28-year-old at the start of this match signal that she is up for this.

Ostpenko hits a clean winner off the serve for 0-15 but that doesn't faze the Czech, who calmly backs up the break.

I'm on Centre Court where, in what feels like the first time in ages, the roof is open!

What's more, there's also a bit of a breeze travelling from the scoreboard by the royal box to right where I'm sitting. Think of it as a crosscourt forehand for a right hander who's at the end furthest from the TV cameras.

Players will have to hit the ball softer on one side, and harder on the other. An extra challenge, as if you needed any more in a Wimbledon quarter-final.

Barbora Krejcikova has to use angles to make Jelena Ostapenko move. Anything to get her off-balance which will force her into taking a risk.

Ostapenko has to be in the groove, this style of huge ball striking has to be working because she doesn't have a Plan B to go to.

If Ostapenko has some time and an angle to work with, she will find it.

    And Krejcikova gets the break.

Despite Ostapenko serving well and hitting nice groundstrokes, Krejcikova manages to bend the rallies to her will and forces errors out of the 13th seed.

An early lead for the 31st seed on Court One.

A few mean slices and angles from Barbora Krejcikova drag Jelena Ostapenko to deuce.

The Latvian then goes wide with a forehand to give up the match's first break point.

After a rain-interrupted start to the week, we finally have the great sight of play all over Wimbledon, which is fantastic news for event organisers as they play catch-up to get rid of the backlog.

The forecast is good for the rest of the day and also for tomorrow as well, but Friday could be problematic. Enjoy the dry weather while we can.

  13. Reid a set and a break downpublished at 13:15 British Summer Time 10 July 2024

    Reid 4-6 0-1 Fernandez*

After a strong start, Britain's Gordon Reid has lost the first set to Argentine Gustavo Fernandez in the men's wheelchair singles on court 14.

Reid went 2-0 up before Fernandez, the third seed, won the next four games to take control of the set.

Another break for Reid got it back on serve at 4-4 but Fernandez broke again to take the first and made the perfect start to the second with another break.

A good hold from Barbora Krejcikova. The 31st seed found herself 0-30 down but gets to game point.

Exactly the opposite start for Barbora Krejcijkova. Two double faults from the Czech and she's down 0-30.

An ace on the next point is a nice settler though.

Novak Djokovic’s day suddenly looks very different indeed following the withdrawal of Alex de Minaur. He is currently going through the motions on the practice courts (which have become a hive of activity) but there is nothing strenuous about what he’s doing at the moment.

He won’t play until Friday now. Carlos Alcaraz, who is also into the semi-final, is on the next door court in the black t-shirt.

  20. 'De Minaur will be back'published at 13:03 British Summer Time 10 July 2024

    Pat Cash
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

When Alex De Minaur is running around the court, if he's only 10% off it's a big part of his game that is gone.

The best part about his game is his competitiveness and his physicality to be able to tear everything down.

If he can't do that, realistically he doesn't much of a shot of winning the tournament. He's done the right thing.

It's just really unfortunate when you get to that level where you're in the top 10, you're playing the best tennis of your life, you've changed your style of tennis, become much more aggressive and it's working, everything is coming together and something like this happens.

That's sport, he'll be back, it's unfortunate for him, I feel sorry for him.
