    Sabalenka found the febrile nature of the New York crowd difficult to handle in the 2023 final against Coco Gauff, I seem to remember.

    Then again, she did beat Jessie Pegula here last year.

    And it isn't. The defending champion has gone from serving for the championship to serving to force a tie-break.

    Anisimova is getting linear strokes into the corners and is setting panic in at the other end of the court.

    Sabalenka is starting to doubt herself.

    Anisimova could not have played that any better and she is strolling to the other end - she looks so in control.

    You have to feel for Sabalenka - she cannot believe what has just happened. She should have put that smash shot away easily.

    Anisimova is in for a fight.
