    *Zverev 2-4 Alcaraz

We've seen that shot from Alcaraz so often this tournament, the little fake for the drop shot.

He fools Zverev and the German just about makes it but can only find the net with his return. 0-30.

    *Zverev 2-4 Alcaraz

Relief for Alcaraz as Zverev can only fling his racquet out to meet the Spaniard's powerful forehand and he takes the hold to back up that break.

    Zverev 2-3 Alcaraz*

A nervy start from Zverev was matched by Alcaraz in the opening two games with back-to-back breaks of serve but the 21-year-old is showing no signs of that now as he gives himself two game points.

    Zverev 2-3 Alcaraz*

Zverev turns to his box with a look of bewilderment on his face.

What a game from Alcaraz. The Spaniard takes the break at the first opportunity.

    *Zverev 2-2 Alcaraz

Alcaraz is indeed showing off his shot variety and ridiculous athleticism.

He comes out on top of two lengthy rallies to bring up three break points.

Interesting to see how much variety Alcaraz is already bringing to this tennis match. He's certainly not boring to watch.

    *Zverev 2-2 Alcaraz

That's a great shot from Zverev. Pinpoint forehand into the corner of the court.

Alcaraz makes use of the serve and volley then gets lucky with a net cord to take the hold.

    Zverez 2-1 Alcaraz*

    Greg Rusedski
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

The court is very dry and quick. There's not much clay on it and that should suit Zverev.

    Zverev 2-1 Alcaraz*

That's much better from Zverev. Some big serves and he's got the first hold of this final on the board.

It's a very, very edgy start from both players.

Alcaraz saves the first break point but then loops his forehand wide and Zverev breaks back.

    Zverev 0-1 Alcaraz*

Smart play from Zverev as Alcaraz plays a poor drop shot and the German has plenty of time to run on to it and nail the forehand.

    Two break points.

No tennis player wants to hear murmurs. The whispering starts after Zverev opens with two double faults.

That was once his weak spot but he has generally got rid of the yips.

The old failing did reappear when Zverev was trying to serve out the third set against Casper Ruud - but he recovered from back-to-back double faults with three 130mph serves.

    This time he doesn't escape.

    Zverez 0-1 Alcaraz*

    Greg Rusedski
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

Juan Carlos Ferrero [Alcaraz's coach] worked with Alexander Zverev for a number of months so he will know where Zverev gets tight. Maybe that is why Alcaraz chose to serve first.

What's going on?! Now the double fault from Alcaraz!

    Zverev 0-1 Alcaraz*

Alcaraz did not start his semi-final match against Jannik Sinner well on Friday so he will have wanted to make a good start here.

If he can back up that break with a hold that will settle some nerves.

    Zverev 0-1 Alcaraz*

    The perfect start for Alcaraz.

Zverev got off to a bad start with those two double faults and looked like he was going to overcome the nerves to take the hold but Alcaraz showcases his shot variety early on to take the break.
