The biggest cheer of the match on Court One so far as Arthur Fils gets on the board thanks to an ace of 129mph in game five. The fans here want to see a good match.

Fils had to come back from a set down in the last round against Russia's Roman Safiullin and this set is going to take some recovering from here, but at least he's avoided an afternoon bagel.

If you enter the bowels of Centre Court from the south side (opposite the Royal Box) you're greeted by the Champions Wall.

It's always a popular spot for supporters taking pictures - the other day I met someone who shared their name with a winner in the 1800s.

Elena Rybakina's name of course is on there. The Kazakh player is back on Centre where she recorded the biggest win of her career two years ago.

Brit Neal Skupski and partner Michael Venus from New Zealand are the ninth seeds in the men's doubles. They're currently playing their third round match.

They're off to a good start, winning the first set against unseeded Americans Christopher Eubanks and Evan King.

Remember you can watch this match on court 12, plus action from every court, here on BBC iPlayer.

Hmmm. This is looking pretty ominous as Alex de Minaur holds to love.

This set already looks to be well beyond Arthur Fils but he needs a hold just to settle.

De Minaur's forehand goes wide to hand the Frenchman a 40-15 lead and two chances to hold.

A big roar from the crowd on Court One as a Fils ace at 129mph gets him on the board.

The women's draw has properly opened up.

With Coco Gauff, and Iga Swiatek falling to shock defeats over the weekend, plus the exits of Ons Jabeur and Emma Raducanu, Elena Rybakina is the highest ranked player left. So with that in mind I reckon it's now pretty safe to dub the fourth seed as the favourite.

And that's a really interesting position for her to be in. When she won here two years ago she was an underdog. Even as the defending champion 12 months ago she was unfancied - unfortunate to be on the same side of the draw as Jabeur and Aryna Sabalenka.

A path to the final has emerged though. She comes into this match as the one to beat. Will she advance under the pressure?

  6. Rybakina v Kalinskaya on Centre Courtpublished at 13:24 British Summer Time 8 July

Coming up shortly and opening the action on Centre Court today is a fourth round tie between Kazakhstan fourth seed Elena Rybakina and Russian 15th seed Anna Kalinskaya.

Remember, Rybakina is the highest seeded player left in the women's draw following the departures of Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff, while Aryna Sabalenka withdrew before the tournament's start due to injury.

That’s classic De Minaur, the ability to see a ball is short and redirect it quickly and then he’s looking to sneak forward. Great play.

Fourteen minutes in and Alex de Minaur has raced into a 4-0 lead. Saving one break point caused Arthur Fils to scream out 'let's go', but an overhead smash was instantly challenged by De Minaur, with the Aussie wagging his finger, and his eyes were spot on as the Hawk-Eye challenge showed De Minaur to be correct.

Just as in the first game, Fils provided a double fault to gift the break of serve and this set is in danger of running away from the 20-year-old with De Minaur holding a double break.

Wimbledon crowds love and underdog and they are doing their best to try and get behind Arthur Fils here - he certainly looks like he needs it!

Alex de Minaur has another chance to break, this could be hugely damaging for Fils confidence.

The Frenchman shouts "let's go" as he saves when De Minaur strikes long.

He can't save break a second time, though, and De Minaur races into a 3-0 lead in this first set after just 11 minutes.

    Glasspool/Rojer 6-7 6-7 Frantzen/Jebens

Brit Lloyd Glasspool has never made it past the third round of the men's doubles at Wimbledon and he has fallen at the same hurdle for a third time.

Glasspool and Dutch partner Jean-Julien Rojer have lost 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (7-3) to German team Constantin Frantzen and Hendrik Jebens on court 17.

Frantzen and Jebens would be quarter-final opponents for Brit Neal Skupsi and New Zealander Michael Venus were they to win their ongoing third round match.

Lorenzo Musetti appears to be holding back tears as he speaks after reaching his first Grand Slam quarter-final.

“It's tough for me to get emotional but I think today I will. I've been dreaming of this moment since I was a kid," said 25th seed Musetti.

"I always had a beautiful family who supported me in chasing my dream, it’s tough to speak sorry.

“It's such a big day for me and I'm really happy and proud of this win against a tough opponent. I struggled a little at the beginning against a big serve. I’m a little bit shaking still but at the end it's a really phenomenal day for me.”

It has already been a great 2024 for Alex de Minaur as he matched his best run at the Australian Open by making the last 16 and then set a new personal best at the French Open in reaching the quarter-finals.

His performances at Wimbledon have also seen him reach the last 16 for only the second time, matching his effort from two years ago. Still plenty of empty seats on Court One as we get ready to start, but with the rain imminent, this may be the only show in town.

A perfect start too for the Aussie today, breaking the Arthur Fils serve to love in the opening game of the match, with the Frenchman sending down a double fault to give De Minaur an early advantage.

I'm rooting for Arthur Fils. Loved his match against Hurkacz - he's very entertaining. Failing that, I'm happy with another Novak win on the men's side.

With dark grey clouds looming over Wimbledon, the day's play on the show courts begins with the roof closed on Court One.

It's a cracking match to start us off as hugely-talented 20-year-old Frenchman Arthur Fils takes on ninth seed Alex de Minaur of Australia.

Fils has already taken out seventh seed Hubert Hurkacz, so can he eliminate the ninth seed as well?

De Minaur should come in as the fresher of the two though after he gained a walkover win in round three after Lucas Pouille had to withdraw because of injury, while Fils edged out Russia's Roman Safiullin in five sets on Saturday.

Musetti celebrates reaching the quarter-finals by falling flat on his back on the grass.

  19. Will walkover give De Minaur the edge?published at 13:07 British Summer Time 8 July

Australian Alex de Minaur benefitted from a walkover after France's Lucas Pouille withdrew from their round three match due to injury.

So, after a four day break from competitive action, De Minaur should be fit, fresh and raring to go for his fourth round encounter with Arthur Fils.

De Minaur is also yet to drop a set at SW19 this summer as he looks to reach the quarter-finals of the grass-court Grand Slam for the first time.

The ninth seed has faced Fils once previously, losing 7-5 6-2 on the clay in Barcelona earlier this year.

Can De Minaur get his revenge today?
