My eyesight isn't the best, but I can just about spot the familiar curly ginger hair of men's top seed Jannik Sinner in the player's box, diagonally across from me.

Sinner, who is dating Anna Kalinskaya, is constantly leaning forward in his chair, living every point.

Rybakina responds with an ace of her own as she races through her service game to hold.

Where was this Arthur Fils in the first set?

A second hold of serve in this second set to give Alex de Minaur a taste of his own medicine.

Fils walks back to his chair for the change of ends with a fist pump to his coaching box.

What a game that was, it had everything. Arthur Fils, who did not get a sniff of a break in the opening set, thinks he has got himself a break point at the end of a thrilling rally, only to be denied by Hawk-Eye with the ball clipping the baseline by the smallest margin imaginable.

The Frenchman can only laugh at the situation, but then creates a couple of break-point chances, although then completely miscues one shot, with the ball sent high, high into the air, bouncing off the support beam of the roof.

But a wonderful volley at the net gives him a third break point as this time he takes it. All five members of his team are standing up celebrating, Fils responds with a fist pump and we've got ourselves a match on Court One.

Oh Kalinskaya can play. The groundstrokes are absolutely fabulous, she’s got wonderful technique, great preparation, she’s very athletic and she’s strong.

She believes in herself and she’s standing up to Rybakina. She’s certainly not intimidated here.

Elena Rybakina gets on the board as Anna Kalinskaya can't return a big first serve.

There's been some eye-catching rallies in the opening stages of this match which Kalinskaya has got the better of so far.

A hold of serve gets Arthur Fils on the board... now just the small matter of trying to break.

Oh! Fils stands firm in a competitive rally and thinks he has two break points when Alex de Minaur's forehand is called long. The Australian challenges and Hawk-Eye shows it is in by 1 millimetre.

Fils does eventually get his shot at break point but fires into the net for deuce.

Some really aggressive play from Fils with a cross-court backhand followed by a net volley for advantage and then he gets the break.

Another seed is wobbling at Wimbledon!

I just want to go back to that very first point, it was a real tone-setter.

Elena Rybakina had a chance to play a passing winner but just hesitated, right about the same time an airplane echoed over our heads.

Instead she whacked one straight into the body of Anna Kalinskaya who was able to finish the point off.

Wimbledon isn't too far from Heathrow by the way. Another airplane is passing over my head as I type this.

Elena Rybakina looks like she's starting to settle as she whips a forehand winner past Anna Kalinskaya before firing a forehand down the line to take the game to deuce.

Kalinskaya responds to hold with two good first serves which Rybakina can't get back into play.

I think that first game really set the tone from Kalinskaya. The willingness to match Rybakina on the ground and really nullify her serve.

You’ve got to take those opportunities when you get them because they may be few and far between.

Rybakina, I think, is the best player in the draw. She has only ever lost two matches at Wimbledon, the champion two years ago and she’s been really good on tour with three titles and very consistent.

She has been a bit fragile in recent months, both with injuries and illness. She struggles with sleep at times and she does seem to pick up viruses and the odd gastro problem.

Does she have the stamina to get through the fortnight? I think she is too good to have only won one Grand Slam title, and especially on the grass at Wimbledon, with that serve. In my mind she’s the favourite at this point.

If that's a sign of things to come we're in for a treat on Centre Court as Anna Kalinskaya comes into the net following a neat exchange to take the opening point.

The Russian then fires a fine backhand winner across court to earn three break points, which she takes at the first opportunity as Elena Rybakina goes wide.

    Dream start for Kalinskaya.

That's seven sets played for Alex de Minaur at Wimbledon (he got a walkover win in round three over Lucas Pouille) and he's won all seven of them after straight-set wins over compatriot James Duckworth in round one and then against Spain's Jaume Munar in round two.

He was in control of that set right from the start, breaking Fils' serve twice in the Frenchman's opening two service games.

    Todd Woodbridge

One of the key things for De Minaur is that he can go back to his safety zones of being a little passive.

When he misses a first serve, he’s not taking much risk or diversification on the second serve. We’ll keep an eye on that. Other matches he’s been very predictable so we'll see if he mixes that up more.

The roof is closed and, as it always does, it's creating a loud echo around Centre Court.

There's a buzz about the place with hundreds of different conversations going on while the players warm up.

Some supporters are taking on some last minute snacks, others are checking out their programmes. I've even seen someone checking the BBC Sport page.

Keep up the good work Paul and Co. you're being followed on Centre Court.

That’s one of the big improvements De Minaur's made this year. Last year on the grass, movement was an issue, he was sliding all the time. This year he’s adjusted his steps for better footing.

    Fils 2-5 De Minaur*

After a terrible start, there are small signs of improvement from Arthur Fils.

A first hold of serve is followed by a competitive attempt to break, winning three points on Alex de Minaur's serve for the first time in this match before going on to lose.

Another hold from the Frenchman suggests the second set, which is not far away, could be much closer.

    So who is Anna Kalinskaya?

Well, the Russian may not be too familiar to most Wimbledon fans, she had only ever won one match at SW19 until this summer.

But she is the world number 17 and this year made it all the way to the quarter-finals at the Australian Open, defeating Wimbledon seventh seed Jasmine Paolini in the last 16.

I'll be squinting my eyes to try and do some celeb spotting in her player's box - it's quite a distance from where I'm sat.

Kalinskaya is dating men's top seed Jannik Sinner, and he regular watches her matches when he's not playing.
