After one minute shy of three and a half hours, Taylor Fritz gets the job done with a superb recovery to come from two sets down to send the fourth seed Alexander Zverev out of the tournament.

Fritz drops his racquet and stretches his arms out wide as he looks shocked himself at what he has just done as the Centre Court crowd rise to their feet.

It will be his second appearance in the Wimbledon quarter-finals after he lost a five-set thriller against Rafael Nadal two years ago.

Fritz now plays 25th seed Lorenzo Musetti on Wednesday and will surely fancy his chances of making the last four of a Slam for the first time.

A long conversation between Taylor Fritz and Alexander Zverev at the net. I wonder what that was about?

Fritz is through to his fourth career Grand Slam quarter-final and his second at Wimbledon, having also reached that stage in 2022.

The American 13th seed will face Italian 25th seed Lorenzo Musetti in the last eight.

Fritz has beaten Musetti in two of their three previous meetings, including at SW19 in 2022.

The rain is hammering against the roof on Court One and is making a proper racket. I can hardly concentrate, I wonder what the players must be going through.

Danielle Collins has just got over the line in her latest service game, saving a couple of break points to hold.

So far, it's been a very even start in our final fourth round match of the Women's singles.

It’s a phenomenal effort by Taylor Fritz. You see by that reaction at the end how much it meant to him, he got frustrated after the first two sets but he stuck at it.

More strong serving and a hold from Barbora Krejcikova as Danielle Collins fails to get a foothold in the game.

The American then lets out a number of passionate "come on" cries on serve as she saves three break points.

An increasingly animated Collins seals the game as Krejcikova wrongly challenges a deep forehand which was called in.

A brisk hold to love from Czech 31st seed Barbora Krejcikova and a chance to quickly put the pressure again on Danielle Collins' serve, but the American responds with a speedy service game of her own.

Huge pressure on this service game for Alexander Zverev. How will he cope?

First point in the bag. That'll settle any potential nerves.

Zverev hooks a backhand into the net and it's level. 15-15.

The German strides up to the net and places a forehand into the corner - 40-15 - and then serves out for the game.

A spectacular, diving winner from Taylor Fritz brings a large number of Centre Court to their feet. What a win this would be from two sets down, now he's the one in charge with the break in the decider.

He's on course to make the quarters of a Slam for the fourth time in his career after also doing so here two years ago, the US Open last year and the Australian Open earlier this year.

Taylor Fritz launches himself across the width of the court to volley down the middle. 30-15.

Alexander Zverev needs a break here and it's not going well.

A forehand is wide and he trails 40-30.

Fritz holds. That's almost as big as his break in the previous game.

Danielle Collins seals the first game to hold with an ace while Barbora Krejcikova responds with a hold of her own, with the American planting a return into the net.

Alexander Zverev defends the first as he reads Taylor Fritz's drop shot and has time to pick his spot down the line.

The German thinks he has defended for a second time when his forehand is called in but Fritz challenges and Hawk-Eye confirms it is out.

    Game Fritz. A huge break.
