It's really difficult to call. Taylor Fritz has to use the crowd and hope for some inspiration. I think Alexander Zverev will just about get it over the line in four by winning the tie-break.

    An ace to begin. 15-0.

Taylor Fritz hooks a backhand into the net, but a cross-court forehand puts him back in front. 30-15.

A forehand earns breathing space and he punctuates the game with an ace.

    We're going to a tie-break.

Taylor Fritz is leading in total points won, but he is 2-1 down to Alexander Zverev and must hold his serve to stay in the match.

Alexander Zverev faults on first serve but a second serve of 130mph sets the tone. 15-0.

Another pacey serve seals the game as Taylor Fritz can't get any direction on his return.

The American will serve to stay in the match.

Mark: Credit to Jeļena Ostapenko. She sustained fierce, accurate hitting for two sets. She simply blew Yulia Puntintseva away

I have been impressed by Alexander Zverev because when he loses energy and gets frustrated he starts losing his mindset. Here he has stayed composed trying to find a break.

We've only had two breaks of serve in this whole match. If Alexander Zverev manages to change that to three in this game then he'll be into the quarter-finals.

Taylor Fritz isn't allowing that to play on his mind, though, with a hold to 15 to keep it on serve.

I've been fancying Ostapenko's chances of winning this the more I've watched her throughout this tournament. She's striking the ball so fiercely, it's not giving her opponents any time to settle. Putintseva dictated play against Swiatek, but today she just got dominated. I foresee an Ostapenko v Rybakina semi final. That'll be huge.

What a response. Love-30 down and Zverev didn’t blink, did he? He’s been so accurate today. When he’s been in trouble he’s come up with the big serves and excellent groundstrokes.

Taylor Fritz lobs Alexander Zverev and sends the German racing back to the baseline. He manages to return but it's teed up perfectly for the American to volley a forehand winner. 0-30.

Ah. That was short-lived. We're back level as Fritz loses his footing and finds the net.

Zverev has a chance to serve for the game and Fritz can't get it back over.

    A big hold.

Alexander Zverev really hasn't given much away across the course of these three and a half sets - a drop of serve in the previous set enough to get Taylor Fritz on the board - and Taylor Fritz has to continue matching those levels.

Fritz is up against it here, trailing 30-15, but settles back into his rhythm and wins three points in a row.

Taylor Fritz reads a clip of the net cord and adjusts his feet to return a forehand winner.

Alexander Zverev profits from a weak Fritz slice to lead 40-15.

Fritz applies a little pressure to reduce the deficit to 40-30 but a Zverev ace gets the job done.

Jelena Ostapenko is into the quarter-finals for the first time in six years. With so many seeds falling around her, maybe it's finally the Latvian's time.

She won Wimbledon as a junior 10 years ago, and it's seven years since her only Grand Slam title, the 2017 French Open.

She gets a brilliant reception, clapping all four corners of the court and lifting her racquet to the sky.

Ostapenko will face one of Danielle Collins or Barbora Krejcikova in the last eight. And lucky for her and her team they can start scouting straight away as those two are next on Court One.

Jelena Ostapenko on reaching her third Wimbledon quarter-final:

"First of all guys it's an amazing atmosphere here on this court, I love to play in front of you, I hope you enjoyed the match."

"This is one of my my favourites on the tour. I won it at juniors and I have great memories here.

“I feel like I'm playing really good players but I'm good in deciding moments. I think that’s the key and I'm doing pretty okay.

“It's great to be in the quarter-finals. I want to to enjoy it, I have the doubles too. It’s a very special place for me and I hope I can keep it up.”
