1. Break points for Fritzpublished at 18:28 British Summer Time 8 July

    *Fritz 4-6 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 7-6 (7-3) 2-1 Zverev

A first hint from either player that they might get a chance at break point in this deciding set.

Taylor Fritz leads 30-15 after a wide forehand from Alexander Zverev.

Fritz volleys at the net to earn two break points.

Fritz has got better and better as the match has gone on but Zverev has got a little more restrictive with his movements. I feel the momentum is with Fritz right now.

  3. 'Big change in players' energy levels'published at 18:25 British Summer Time 8 July

The big change has been the energy levels of both players. In the middle of that third set we saw Zverev dip with his energy levels, as well as the battle of the real estate.

Fritz has been more aggressive, more positive but Zverev’s serve is keeping him alive.

How much of a boost is it for Taylor Fritz to have started this decided set on serve?

He keeps up that scoreboard pressure with a hold to 15.

A mixture of gasps and the odd chuckle on Court One as a line judge almost trips over himself trying to avoid an ace from Danielle Collins.

In the end he just has to let the ball hit him, although thankfully it wasn't one of Collins' fastest efforts. He gives the crowd a sheepish smile.

Alexander Zverev comes back with a hold to 15 of his own.

There really hasn't been much between Zverev and Taylor Fritz in just over three hours of action as the score suggests.

  7. Unpredictable weather 'definitely a challenge'published at 18:20 British Summer Time 8 July

It wouldn't be Wimbledon without a spot of rain here and there, right?

After a positive start to the first week on the weather-front, the past couple of days have been just how we expect the British summer... with plenty of rain.

The option to close the roof on Centre Court and Court One has definitely helped Wimbledon organisers in recent years, but there is still a bit of a backlog to get through on the outside courts as we embark on week two.

"There's definitely a challenge going into the second week, the weather is still quite unpredictable but we're on track for where we want to be at this time, particularly with the singles competition," CEO of Wimbledon Sally Bolton told BBC Sport.

"Having put roofs on our two show courts and having included a permanent middle Sunday, we've got that resilience built in and actually have for a number of years now."

Well, here we are. One set to decide whether American 13th seed Taylor Fritz or German fourth seed Alexander Zverev will be in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.

A no nonsense service game from Fritz - holding to 15 - gets us up and running.

  9. 'Fritz deserves credit'published at 18:17 British Summer Time 8 July

I think Fritz deserves an enormous amount of credit because certainly in the first half of the match, he wasn’t having things his own way.

Zverev was putting on a bit of a serving clinic but Fritz never let his head drop and came up with the tie-break when he needed it.

Into a fifth set we go. Taylor Fritz turns to the players' box and uses the traditional tennis celebration of the raised fist having won the fourth set tie-break.

Alexander Zverev had not lost a set in his first three matches, but has now lost both of the last two and into a final set shootout we go.

Those wanting to see Novak Djokovic will have to wait. It's already looking like a long evening for those on Centre.

The momentum is with Taylor Fritz. He has been tremendous. You look at Alexander Zverev and his body language is really sullen that this is going to a fifth set.

    Collins v Krejcikova

    Joe Rindl

Back to it on Court One.

There's only one spot left in the women's quarter-finals, and one of Danielle Collins and Barbora Krejcikova will nab it.

American Collins is the favourite, she's seeded 11th, although this is her first time playing in a Wimbledon fourth-round match.

Czech player Krejcikova is a former world number two. She won the French Open back in 2021 and has won doubles at Wimbledon twice, in 2018 and 2022.

She's never made it into the last eight at singles in SW19 though.

There are a lot more journalists around me in the press seats than usual. Plenty of American accents too. Collins, from Florida, is the last American in the women's draw.

Last but not least on court one is American 11th seed Danielle Collins against Czech 31st seed Barbora Krejcikova.

The pair are warming up on court now and will be under way shortly.

The winner will face Jelena Ostapenko in the quarter-finals, who dispatched Yulia Putintseva 6-2 6-3 in impressive fashion earlier this afternoon.

  14. Skupski wins in match tiebreakpublished at 18:13 British Summer Time 8 July

    Skupski/Krawczyk 6-4 6-7 (4-7) 11-9 Matos/Stefani

Brit Neal Skupski and American Desirae Krawczyk have won two Wimbledon mixed doubles titles together and are the sixth seeds in this year's competition.

They have come through their first round match against last year's Australian Open champions Rafael Matos and Luisa Stefani.

The British-American team had to save a match point against the Brazilians in a match tie-break which they eventually won 11-9 on court 18, just before the rain stopped play on all outside courts.

Fritz levels the match as he takes fourth set against Zverev

A deciding set is on the cards.

Who saw that coming after Alexander Zverev won the opening two?

Zverev puts his backhand long and Fritz has four set points.

An overhead volley from Zverev saves the first. Zverev's forehand is called long, he challenges and Hawk-Eye shows it was in fact in.

    Fritz gets it done!

Taylor Fritz is running away with this.

A passing forehand down the line earns him another break.

Alexander Zverev gets his first point as Fritz can't return his serve.

Going into this tie-break Taylor Fritz had won 122 points in this match, with Alexander Zverev on 119. The American didn't really look like breaking the German's serve in that set, but has stayed in the match with dogged persistence and now has a chance to force a decider.

Taylor Fritz has the energy but will he hold his nerve in the tie-break? This is where Alexander Zverev will look to raise his levels.

And a double hold of serve from the American puts him firmly in control.
