    Fritz 4-6 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 3-3 Zverev*

Alexander Zverev gets himself a position to push for a break point with a 30-15 lead but a shriek of frustration as he puts a backhand into the net. 30-30.

Another unforced error from the German and Taylor Fritz leads 40-30.

It's long from Zverev and we stay on serve.

What a performance by Jelena Ostapenko. Nobody is going to want to see her name next to their own in the draw.

    Putintseva 2-6 3-6 Ostapenko

Jelena Ostapenko misses a backhand winner down the line at match point to take the game to deuce.

Yulia Putintseva saves a second match point, but she can't rescue the third as Ostapenko comes into the net to slice a fine winner down the line and crown a dominant performance.

The 27-year-old is into her third Wimbledon quarter-final.

Aamer: Only following the text commentary but Alexander Zverev v Taylor Fritz appears to be a throwback to Richard Krajicek v Goran Ivanisevic. Short points.

    Fritz 4-6 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 2-2 Zverev*

Taylor Fritz has been a pretty solid match for Alexander Zverev on serve and he stands up tall on this game too.

This set is starting to feel like the previous where one mistake could be the difference.

Too good from Jelena Ostapenko, who from behind the baseline, arrows a flat backhand winner across court as Yulia Putintseva can only stand and watch.

Puntintseva holds her nerve to win the game, however, but Ostapenko will now serve for the match and a place in the quarter-finals.

Elina Svitolina found it "extremely tough" to focus on competing at Wimbledon after Russian strikes killed 31 people and seriously damaged a children's hospital in her native Ukraine.

Svitolina, 29, broke down in tears during an on-court interview after she beat China's Wang Xinyu.

She played that match while knowing there had been mass casualties from the assault on her homeland.

    *Fritz 4-6 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 1-2 Zverev

Alexander Zverev, who has a support on his left knee, refuses to chase from the baseline to the net to try and return Taylor Fritz's slice. 15-15.

Zverev is moving freely enough, though, and goes on to win the next three points to hold.

Ostapenko can feel how Putintseva is really starting to push back at her now, We’re seeing her try and insert a little more aggression and gain the upper hand in some of these rallies.

She is having to absolutely go for it right from the get-go in most of these points to prevent Ostapenko from dominating.

    *Putintseva 2-6 2-5 Ostapenko

Jelena Ostapenko continues to draw gasps from the crowd with her crisp hitting, but it's punctuated by unforced errors, giving Yulia Puntintseva a break point.

The Latvian overpowers Putintseva to save it, before holding with another monstrous forehand.

She is potentially one game away from the quarter-finals.

    Joe Rindl

Unlike the first set, things haven't gone all Jelena Ostapenko's way in the second. Even after breaking she looks over to her player's box and shadow hits some forehands while looking a little unsatisfied.

Still, she's almost there, just a few games away from a first Wimbledon quarter-final since 2018.

The stats show Jelena Ostapenko has struck 20 winners compared to Yulia Putintseva's four.

There's a break point now for the Latvian and she takes it as Putintseva overcooks a forehand.

A frustrated Putintseva challenges the point but it's in vain, and she has a lot of work to do from here.
