Summary

  1. Postpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Norrie 3-5 Zverev

Too good from Zverev at the net. Dinking from one side to the other and sending Norrie side to side.

Norrie is in a spot of bother here as he again can only find the net for 0-30.

  2. Zverev holdspublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Norrie 3-5 Zverev

Norrie advances into the net and misses the drop shot and that allows Zverev to take control once again. He produces a huge serve that Norrie can't even get over the net.

Norrie will have to serve to stay in the opening set.

  3. Postpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 6 July

    Norrie 3-4 Zverev*

Big fist pump from Norrie as he sneaks ahead 15-30 on the Zverev serve.

If he can do a bit more of that and get this Centre Court crowd on side that will seriously boost his chances.

  4. 'Zverev changed his mentality'published at 14:06 British Summer Time 6 July

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

I think Zverev had issues with his movement, didn’t feel confident, a bit of the yips caused problems.

Zverev is a guy who relies on movement and only when he saw that wasn’t enough, and the injury of course, that’s changed his mentality.

He's a better player than he had ever been.

  5. Postpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 6 July

    Norrie 3-4 Zverev*

We really have been rattling through these games. Just 19 minutes on the clock and Zverev is already a break up and two games from taking the set.

  6. 'Norrie has gone under the radar'published at 14:05 British Summer Time 6 July

    Norrie 3-4 Zverev*

    Greg Rusedski
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

All of the expectations and pressure this Wimbledon has been on Jack Draper and Emma Raducanu.

Norrie has gone under the radar and he is taking advantage.

He's very underrated at times for how great a player he is.

  7. Zverev breakspublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 6 July

    Norrie 3-4 Zverev*

Zverev sends his backhand long and that's the second break point saved but Norrie can only send his backhand into the net after Zverev manages to take control of a rally from the baseline.

There's the break for the German.

  8. Postpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Norrie 3-3 Zverev

Well that's one way to save a break point - a thumping ace.

Any more where that came from?

  9. Zverev break pointspublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Norrie 3-3 Zverev

Norrie comes into the net but it doesn't pay off then fires his backhand long and suddenly he's in a spot of bother on serve here.

    Zverev has three break points.

  10. 'Zverev could return earlier'published at 14:01 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Norrie 3-3 Zverev

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

What I would like to see Zverev do is step in closer after the return.

Norrie doesn’t hit his serve with a lot of pace so maybe he could return earlier.

  11. Zverev holdspublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Norrie 3-3 Zverev

Oh what a shot. Zverev nails the two-handed backhand down the line to secure another straightforward hold to 15.

The German fourth seed has arrived at Wimbledon in excellent form having gone far in both Grand Slams already this year. But Wimbledon is not his favoured major and he has never made it past the fourth round here.

  12. No play until 14:30 BST on outside courtspublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 6 July

As expected with the rain still coming down, the earliest possible start on the outside courts has been pushed back another half hour.

Fingers crossed for a restart not long after that. I wouldn't hold your breath, though.

  13. Norrie holdspublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 6 July

    Norrie 3-2 Zverev*

So far it has been very difficult for either man to break the other's serve. Norrie is the latest to secure a hold to 15.

No messing about on Centre Court.

  14. 'Norrie has clarity in his game plan'published at 13:55 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Norrie 2-2 Zverev

    Greg Rusedski
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

Good variety from Norrie on the first and second serve, he really has clarity in his game plan today.

For big servers or people who serve well, it is very difficult to break when the roof is on.

  15. 'Norrie was saying don't forget about me'published at 13:55 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Norrie 2-2 Zverev

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC TV

I thought it was an impressive performance (from Cameron Norrie against Jack Draper).

One sunny day doesn’t make a summer but I thought it was making a statement – Norrie was saying don’t forget about me.

  16. Shelton’s huge servepublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Shapovalov 7-6 (7-4) 1-3 Shelton

    Charlotte Coates
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Ben Shelton has a monstrous serve and it’s quite something seeing it in action.

The American hit a 153mph serve in his second round win. I wonder if we’ll see anything close to that here.

  17. Zverev holdspublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Norrie 2-2 Zverev

Oops. Zverev sends one very out then has Norrie dashing around the court on the next point. His smash volley almost lands neatly in the lap of Sir Chris Hoy in the Royal Box.

Norrie's forehand can only find the net and that's another hold notched up for Zverev.

    We remain on serve.

  18. 'Norrie has to get the crowd behind him'published at 13:51 British Summer Time 6 July

    Norrie 2-1 Zverev*

    Greg Rusedski
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

Norrie has to use the crowd to his advantage, he's got to get them behind him.

In big-pressure situations in the past, Zverev has got a bit nervous.

  19. Norrie holdspublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 6 July

    Norrie 2-1 Zverev*

Another good service game from Norrie.

Points so far have been very short. We're not getting into any lengthy rallies for the time being.

Zverev's return is wide and it's an impressive hold to 15 for the Brit.

  20. Going the distance again?published at 13:48 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Shapovalov 7-6 (7-4) 0-2 Shelton

    Charlotte Coates
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Currently waiting to get on to Court One where Denis Shapovalov and Ben Shelton are going at it.

Shelton’s previous two matches have gone the distance and he’s just lost the first set here…
