Man Utd v Burnley (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Burnley

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany on getting out of the relegation zone: "We've been so close for a while now. In the end that's the reward for the work you do. You get to celebrate for a bit [after Saturday's win over Sheffield United] but on Monday you have to build for a really important week.

"I don't analyse the situation at the bottom, I analyse what we need to do for the next game, and I know we still have a chance [to stay up].

"I understand every weekend can bring such a shift, and I'd like it to keep tilting our way, of course."

  2. 'I'm just trying to do something special over next few weeks'published at 13:48 25 April

    Burnley

Now here's Burnley boss Vincent Kompany on the battle for survival, with four games left: "It's game by game. As I've said from the beginning, just give us one opportunity to fight for something. That's all we need.

"It feels like that on Saturday. It's one game that gives us an opportunity and that's enough for us."

He added: "There's four games in front of us and I believe we can get a result in every game. I've no other thinking, just trying to do something special over the next few weeks if possible."

  4. Palace put £60m price tag on both Eze and Olisepublished at 13:40 25 April

Crystal Palace will only entertain offers for star forwards Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise that start at £60m or more for each player.

The Eagles are safe from relegation having secured a club record 12th season of Premier League football, and say that financially they do not need to sell either player.

However, given some of the praise for Eze in particular in recent weeks and the form of Olise, they accept that bids are highly likely to come this summer.

And Palace feel that £60m per player is the starting price for interested teams if they want to enter negotiations.

Both Olise and Eze signed long-term deals this season so Palace are in a strong negotiating position.

Neither contract contains a straightforward release clause and any deal will be complex with percentages due to the player's former club, the players themselves and Crystal Palace.

Were Liverpool's defence coached properly to deal with Everton set pieces? Forest totally neutralised Everton's set pieces, but Liverpool didn't have a clue. So it's not just the players failing at Liverpool, it's the coaches too.

If Manchester City win tonight, they'll go second and one point behind leaders Arsenal with a game in hand.

If Brighton pick up a home victory, they'll jump back above Bournemouth and into 10th place.

Seagulls defender Pervis Estupinan has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, while Julio Enciso will be assessed.

Adam Webster could feature but Evan Ferguson, Billy Gilmour, Tariq Lamptey and James Milner remain out.

Meanwhile, City forward Erling Haaland will miss a second game, having also missed last weekend's FA Cup semi-final because of injury.

Phil Foden and John Stones are both available.

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Friedel has just been speaking on Sky Sports about the possibility of Arne Slot becoming the new manager of Liverpool and blow me down, the pair could be brothers.

Also, Slot is a fantastic surname. I know there were loads of puns yesterday, but I'm going to add in 'Slot Machine' as a potential headline if his side were to go on a winning run.

  11. News conferences coming uppublished at 13:09 25 April

We've reached that stage in the day (and the week) where Premier League managers sit down in front of the media to give their thoughts on the weekend's games.

This afternoon's offering is Burnley boss Vincent Kompany, Sean Dyche, probably still on cloud nine after the Merseyside derby result and Brentford manager Thomas Frank.

On Saturday, Burnley travel to Manchester United at 15:00 BST and Everton welcome Brentford at 17:30 BST.

Will Dyche stick with his trackie? Or will the shirt and tie combo make a return?

Thumbs are there for this important question.

Liverpool's biggest mistake was saying no to £250 million for Mo Salah in the summer. Putting a few penalties away has spared him a lot of criticism. Can any fans truly say he has even come close to justifying that price tag this year?

Well, what do you think about that Liverpool fans? I'm sure it's highly unlikely Jurgen Klopp will also have a change of heart at Liverpool, but would you want him to stay at Anfield anyway?

And that's one less of Europe's top coaches available to hire this summer. So who would you like to come in, if Klopp does indeed stick to his word and leave at the end of the season?

Barcelona coach Xavi will remain at the club until at least the end of his contract in June 2025 after changing his mind that this would be his last season.

The 44-year-old announced in January he would step down as boss this summer.

But, with president Joan Laporta keen for him to remain, the former Barcelona and Spain midfielder has performed a U-turn.

Laporta said: "We know that he made some statements in the middle of the season, but today we have the good news that he is staying and he has conveyed to me the enthusiasm and confidence he has in the project."

I understand Klopp is a good manager, but am I part of the minority when I think he's failed at Liverpool? He's been there the same time as Pep yet only won a fraction of the trophies. That squad he built should have won more and it's criminal he has only won one Premier League title in 9 years. He's a good manager.... but not a great!

  17. Are Everton safe from relegation?published at 12:44 25 April

    Everton 2-0 Liverpool

After a dismal run from December through to the start of this month, Everton fans are much more hopeful of avoiding relegation after claiming two home wins in four days.

The Toffees aren't quite safe yet though. With four games remaining, another five points would secure their Premier League status for at least another season - although four would probably be enough given their goal difference is far superior to that of third-bottom Luton.

  18. Everton's outpouring of joy matched this thunderous occasionpublished at 12:38 25 April

    Everton 2-0 Liverpool

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Everton and their followers have been very short on reasons to let it all hang out in celebration apart from in late escapes from relegation as the club lurched towards the footballing and financial precipice, with eight points being deducted this season.

So it was no surprise to see some of their supporters dancing down Goodison Road in the direction of the famous Evertonian pub across from Goodison Park, The Winslow.

Manager Sean Dyche, whose style of play has been something of an acquired taste to some Everton fans, got it spot on here and deserved to fully enjoy the finest night since his appointment.

He did not have to look hard for heroes in the shape of goalscorers Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the faultless Idrissa Gueye in midfield and keeper Jordan Pickford, who delivered several crucial saves and even indulged in some Klopp-style fist pumps towards Everton’s fans after one final save from Salah in the dying seconds.

This was the sort of night they waited a long time for – more than 13 years in this fixture at Goodison Park – and the outpouring of joy matched this thunderous occasion.

Kindergarten Klopp: At the start of the season, my hope was top 4 and a cup. That will be achieved and the league always felt unlikely, but this still feels like a gut punch. We have 360 minutes left with the boss. I just want to enjoy every last one of them.
