Firearm recovered after gun murder

Police have recovered a firearm in connection with a fatal shooting in Walsall last month.

Officers investigating the murder of Connor Brookes, aged 20, recovered the weapon following the shooting in Well Lane, Blakenall, on 8 July.

Five people have been arrested in connection with his murder, with three being charged and two released on bail.

Jake Sanbrook, 22, from Bloxwich and Byron Sellick, 22, from Walsall, were charged with murder as well as attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Julian Falconer, 19, from Willenhall, has also been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm, West Midlands Police said.

Two teenagers, aged 17 and 18, have been released on bail, with conditions that include staying out of Walsall as inquiries continue.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We have kept Connor's family informed of the latest developments."
