Police investigating a fatal shooting in Walsall have charged a third man with murder.

Connor Brookes, 20, was shot dead on Well Lane in Blakenhall just before 17:00 BST on Monday 8 July.

Julian Falconer, 19, from Willenhall, has also been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm, West Midlands Police said.

He will appear before magistrates in Wolverhampton on Saturday.

A total of five people have now been arrested in relation to the shooting.

Jake Sanbrook, 22, from Bloxwich and Byron Sellick, 22, from Walsall, were charged with murder as well as attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

They appeared on separate dates in July at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court, and both are due to appear at the city's Crown court on 27 August, when they are each expected to enter a plea.

Two teenagers, aged 17 and 18, have been released on bail, with conditions that include staying out of Walsall as inquiries continue, West Midlands Police confirmed.

Officers added they were continuing their investigation and urged anyone with information to get in contact.
