Man's death linked to drug-taking, police say

The unexplained death of a man in Stafford last year has since been deemed by police to be non-suspicious.

Lee Harrison, 42, from Stafford, was found dead inside a home on Oberton Gardens on 21 November 2023 after emergency services responded to calls about his welfare.

Staffordshire Police said a 31-year-old man, from Stafford, was arrested on suspicion of murder and later released.

Following an inquest on 21 November this year, it was ruled that Mr Harrison died as a result of mixed drug toxicity.

Officers said they were continuing to support his family.

Det Insp Ian Fitzgerald said: "My thoughts and condolences are still very much with Lee's family who are still coming to terms with their tragic loss.

"I'd like to thank everyone in the local community who engaged with officers and helped us to gather evidence needed to assist His Majesty's Coroner and to give the family closure on this investigation."
