It was a week of two weather extremes in Somerset. It started with flooded fields and ended with snowy hills.

Take a look at some of the best photos we spotted throughout the week in our county.

Schools closed on Thursday as parts of Somerset were covered in snow.

The snow followed on from flooded fields on Monday.

A weather warning for rain remained in place across much of the UK, with flooding from heavy rain and melting snow.

Taunton Racecourse passed a precautionary ground inspection before its races on Wednesday. Variable weather was forecast.
