Wiltshire in pics: Snail discovery and bra mountains

- Published
Pumpkins are being proudly displayed at many farm shops and Halloween celebrations have started around the county.
This week, we've seen everything from fiery fundraisers in Swindon to a super snail discovery in Warminster.
All this and more in your weekly pictures round-up.

Strong support: Wiltshire Police staff have helped collect a 'mountain of bras' at Amelie Lingerie in Devizes, which will help fund vital breast cancer research projects.

Spooktacular: BBC Radio Wiltshire's Marie Indge had her pick of fresh pumpkins at V & P Collins Farmshop in Bromham, near Chippenham, this week.

Fundraiser ignites: More than £14,000 has been raised for domestic abuse charity Society Without Abuse (SWA) thanks to 30 brave fundraisers who walked over red-hot coals at Swindon Cricket Club.

Autumn ambles: People passing through Lydiard Park in Swindon have been able to enjoy the morning dew and the changing colours of the leaves.

Funding boost: Melksham Mayor Saffi Rabey, centre, has enjoyed a visit to Beyond Dementia's Devizes day club to see how a grant from Melksham Town Council has helped support the charity's work.

Wildlife wonders: Center Parcs Longleat Forest has recorded a record-breaking year for woodland species as part of its Annual Creature Count, including two new species of butterfly and an "abundance of moths."

Shellebrate: Wiltshire Wildlife Trust found Desmoulin's Whorl snails at Smallbrook Meadows near Warminster this year, a first for their records at the site. Volunteers carried out a fingertip search through mud with the aid of magnifying glasses to find the 2mm creatures.

Grand opening: Fay Howard, Mayor of Swindon, and the McCarthy Stone team joined together to celebrate the official grand opening of Wichelstowe's newest retirement community with music from singing duo Belle Street.

Starry, starry night: Weather Watcher Dotty caught this spectacular image of the sky over Liddington in Swindon this week.

Spooky season: Louise Muir-Sage, founder of Something Kind of Woo in Royal Wootton Bassett, has been offering practical spiritual tips for the Halloween season. Apparently black tourmaline, obsidian or hematite are wonderful for keeping energy safe, especially if you are around lots of people... or children trick-or-treating at your door.
