India's oil market braces for Opec output decision

Opec, the group of leading oil exporting countries, are meeting on Thursday to decide whether to cut production - a decision that generally has a big impact on the price of oil.

Lower oil prices are bad news for them, but not for consumers filling up at the pump.

Across Asia, there is a big range in the price of a litre of fuel - but those costs are coming down.

Seoul is the most expensive at a $1.75 a litre, whereas Malaysia and Indonesia have fuel subsidies that help to keep prices low.

India, where fuel costs $1.28, falling oil prices are a big relief for both consumers and the government, which spends billions on fuel subsidies. The BBC's Sameer Hashmi reports.
