Doctors back free school meals for infants
More than 40 leading health professionals have signed a letter calling on the government not to scrap free school meals for infants in England.
It is feared that the policy might be targeted in the spending review this Autumn.
The letter in the Sunday Times says the scheme, which provides meals for children in the first three years of school, could pay for itself by improving children's health and reducing obesity levels.
