Winterbourne View report urges care closer to home

A report prompted by the scandal of cruelty to disabled people living at the Winterbourne View care home has called for better provision of care closer to people's friends and family.

In 2011 a BBC Panorama investigation revealed that staff were routinely attacking, neglecting and humiliating disabled people living at Winterbourne View, near Bristol.

Alison Holt reports on why families find it so distressing to have their loved ones cared for in homes which are sometimes miles from the family home.
