Military covenant changes 'would be huge morale boost'

The military covenant, the duty of care promised to armed forces members and their families, is to be put on a "statutory basis" for the first time, the BBC understands.

The current military covenant itself is not legally binding.

Former military commander Colonel Richard Kemp, told the BBC the move was significant and "would be a huge moral boost for our forces".
