Fire Services Minister 'disappointed' at strike action

The Fire Services Minister, Brandon Lewis, has insisted that the four hour strike by firefighters in England and Wales is "unnecessary".

The Fire Brigades Union is unhappy that members risk losing out on their full pension if they are forced to leave the service on fitness grounds.

But Mr Lewis said firefighters were perfectly able to work in the service until they were 60 years old:
