Storm surge: Dramatic rescue as van washed away

A man had to be rescued from flood waters in Scarborough while trying to save his vehicle from being swept away.

A lifting vehicle was trying to tow the van to safety when water crashed around the van and the man appeared to be trying to release the handbrake.

The man had to be dragged from the water and his vehicle drifted off.
