Windsor crowds cheer Irish president's carriage

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have greeted Irish President Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina at the start of the first official state visit by an Irish head of state.

The Irish national anthem was played and cannons fired as part of a ceremonial welcome for President Higgins at Windsor Castle.

Crowds cheered the carriage carrying the Irish president as it made its way to Windsor Castle.
