River Gannel: Sewage leaks lead to calls for more action

Local businesses and water users are calling for more action after multiple sewage leaks on the River Gannel near Newquay in Cornwall.

There have been four leaks during 2021, bringing health risks for swimmers and paddle boarders, and affecting businesses based at Crantock Beach.

South West Water said it was spending more money than ever before on environmental protection and was working to replace the sewer.
