Ventnor church bells silenced after one complaint
The hourly chime of a church bell has been silenced after a noise complaint.
Mark Bell, treasurer of Holy Trinity Church in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight, said the church had agreed to stop the bell ringing while the council investigated the complaint.
The bell was turned off in April for repair and when it resumed one resident made a complaint about the noise level.
It hasn't been heard since the middle of July but a number of residents say they miss its chimes.
