Nottingham: Runners surprise terminally ill mum with 'run past'
A group of about 130 runners surprised a terminally ill mum when then stopped by to wave outside her home.
For years Monica Williams has enjoyed waving to the runners, including her 51-year-old son, as they passed by her kitchen window in The Meadows, Nottingham.
But the 86-year-old became ill and spent a number of months in hospital where her health deteriorated.
After requesting to receive end-of-life care at her home, the running club stopped outside for what her son, Bob Frake, said could be the last time.
They cheered, clapped and waved and Mrs Williams and her carer waved back.
Her family called it a "magical moment" that they would not forget.
