WW1 medals bought back by Wadhurst family

A family from Wadhurst in East Sussex has been reunited with the medals of two brothers who died in the same battle at Aubers Ridge, on the Western Front, in 1915.

The medals awarded to George and Albert Pilbeam were spotted for sale on the internet by a collector, who alerted their descendants.

The brothers' niece Hazel Lawrence said she burst into tears when the family secured the medals.

South East Today's Victoria Holland also spoke to Heather Woodward, of Wadhurst History Society.
