Hundreds gather for funeral of war veteran with no family

Hundreds of people gathered to pay their respects to a Teesside war veteran who died leaving behind no family.

Thomas Cox, 90, from Stockton, served with the Royal Pioneers Corps in World War Two.

Following Mr Cox's death, Barbara Wood put out an appeal to get as many people as possible to attend his funeral, and hundreds answered her call.
