Clashes in the Commons over NHS changes

The Health Secretary Andrew Lansley and his Labour counterpart John Healey had heated exchanges over the government's plans to make changes to the NHS in England.

The shadow health secretary said that the plans should be scrapped and were part of a part of a plan to privatise the health service.

Mr Lansley responded that the government was providing extra funds for the NHS and criticised Labour's "opportunistic" opposition to the plans.
