Labour conference: Douglas Alexander on Middle East

Shadow Foreign Secretary Douglas Alexander has called for Syrian President Assad to go, the establishment of a Palestinian state and a "secure Israel" recognised by its Arab neighbours.

He said Labour was on "the right side of history" before talking about the UK's involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq, when he addressed the party conference in Liverpool.
