Labour's Liam Byrne: Jobless figures call for change of course

A rise in the number of unemployed people is proof that the chancellor needs to "change course" Labour have said.

Shadow work and pensions secretary Liam Byrne told BBC News that George Osborne's polices were not working and the country needed a "bold and radical" plan to help people return to work.

Unemployment rose by 7,000 to 2.52 million between November and January, according to official figures.
