Danny Alexander on EU referendum, euro and olive oil

Liberal Democrats have kept their pledge on an EU referendum and have "legislated for it", the Chief Secretary to the Treasury has said.

Danny Alexander was asked about about a 2008 campaign leaflet, and a 2010 election pledge, by his party over an in-out referendum for British voters, and why his party was not joining Conservatives calling for one now.

And he was asked about his previous enthusiasm about the euro currency, but he said the conditions were never right to join and added: "I am glad we're outside the euro now."

The Lib Dem also spoke about the upcoming European Commission ban on the use of refillable bottles and dipping bowls of olive oil at restaurant tables.
