EU referendum: Lord Howard and Douglas Alexander
A former Conservative leader said he "may vote no" and back the UK leaving the EU in his party's planned referendum if "we have not made significant changes" before 2017.
Lord Howard said his party should give a "legislative commitment to holding that referendum" on the vote offered by David Cameron, if Tories won an outright majority at the 2015 general election.
The former leader said he believed Mr Cameron but a "number of people are sceptical about that, and don't trust what politicians say".
He was debating the UK's future in Europe with ex-Tory councillor Suzanne Evans who made a Daily Politics film, and with Labour's shadow defence secretary Douglas Alexander.
