Labour conference: Letts reviews Ed Miliband week
It was "not the easiest week for Labour" as the party gathered in Manchester, said the sketch writer Quentin Letts.
He reviewed how delegates loved Ed Miliband's speech, especially lines about the NHS and attacking their enemies, but "things kept going wrong".
The leader forgot part of his speech. Rachel Reeves struggled when asked to give a figure for the weekly pension, while the party found that media coverage was overshadowed by issues following the Scottish referendum.
Mr Letts will present sketches later on the Conservative and Lib Dem conference weeks.
