Cameron: New free schools 'what every parent wants'

David Cameron has promised at least 500 new free schools if the Tories win the next election.

They will provide 270,000 new school places, which is "what every parent wants", according to the prime minister.

Mr Cameron called the free school programme the "most successful schools programme in recent British history".
