Gleision: Malcolm Fyfield saw men swept to deaths

A jury has heard how a mine manager saw colleagues swept to their death as water filled the tunnels where they were worked.

Swansea Crown Court was shown a police interview with Malcolm Fyfield on the day he was arrested.

Four men drowned in the disaster at the Gleision mine nearly three years ago. Mr Fyfield and the owners MNS Mining deny manslaughter charges.

Cemlyn Davies reports.
