WW1 lights out ceremony held at Llandaff Cathedral

Lights went out across Wales to mark the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War One.

A service of remembrance at Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff, was held on Monday, which marked the start of four years of events in Wales, external.

People switched off between 22:00 and 23:00 BST on Monday with candlelit vigils being held.

First Minister Carwyn Jones and the Archbishop of Wales took part in the service.

Britain declared war with Germany at 23:00 BST on 4 August, 1914.
