Minister Edwina Hart 'satisfied' with Wales tourism

Criticism of the amount spent on marketing Wales as a tourist destination is without merit, according to the tourism minister.

Edwina Hart has dismissed the criticism saying she is "satisfied" with the work of Visit Wales - the Welsh government's tourism team.

An industry expert has previously said Visit Wales' budget should be "at least doubled" because it is competing against others in the UK who are "far more resourced".

But Ms Hart, speaking on a visit to Folly Farm in Pembrokeshire, to open the new lion enclosure, said comparing different countries' budgets is like comparing "apples and pears".

She spoke to BBC Wales' political reporter James Williams.
