Philippines: UN calls for 'massive response'

The UN has called for a "massive response" to the humanitarian disaster unfolding in the Philippines, where a typhoon has killed thousands of people.

Secretary General Ban Ki-moon announced the release of $25m in emergency aid, and called for urgent contributions from member states.
