Two Palestinian nuns canonised by Pope Francis
Two 19th century Palestinian nuns have been canonised by Pope Francis in a ceremony at the Vatican. The nuns are the first Palestinians in modern times to receive sainthood.
Their canonization has been seen as a sign of the Vatican's support for dwindling Christian communities in the Middle East.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and over 2,000 Christian pilgrims from the region attended the ceremony.
