The statement makes reference to President Trump's recent ban of immigrants travelling to the US from seven countries, including Iran.

We've had the first indications of how the night will go for La La Land, and the signs aren't positive.
It lost both sound categories, which is a surprise. It was pre-show favourite in one of them - sound mixing. But that went to Hacksaw Ridge. And it also lost costume design.
So it can now win a maximum of 10 awards from 14 nominations. Double figures would be a good result - but it's highly unlikely to hit that mark.
