Summary

Motorists have been warned to beware of black ice on roads
Dozens of flights have been delayed, with Heathrow particularly affected

Snow is continuing to fall heavily at Birmingham Airport.
The airport says it has deployed all its snow-clearing equipment, but there is still heavy snowfall, meaning flights are still unable to take off or land there.
The airport closed at around 6am and all flights into the airport have been “temporarily suspended” after heavy snowfall.

In north Wales and the West Midlands, some hospitals have drafted in 4x4 drivers to help staff get to and from work.
Wolverhampton’s New Cross Hospital and Sutton Coldfield’s Good Hope Hospital are among those still asking for help.
